Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has expressed his heartfelt condolence at the death of President Zillur Rahman. 
The Indian President sent two separate massages, one to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other to Zillur Rahman’s family to condole the death of his Bangladesh counterpart.
In the massage to Bangladesh Premier, the Indian President said “I extend to Your Excellency and the people of Bangladesh my heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Zillur Rahman.”
“The news of President Rahman passing away brings grief to us in India, who have witnessed the long and distinguished years of selfless service rendered by President Rahman to his people and country,” Mukherjee continued. 
The Indian President recalled his meeting and discussions with President Rahman during his recent visit to Bangladesh in early March. “I was deeply touched by his nobility, his feelings of friendship and goodwill towards India and the extraordinary warmth of his hospitality and large heartedness,” he said. 
Mukherje said the people of Bangladesh have lost a man of vision and a true son of the soil at the death of Zillur Rahman, who rose to the highest office.
Nearly identical another message to the son of Zillur Rahman, Nazmul Hasan, who is also a Member of Parliament, Mukherjee said “We offer you, your sisters and the other family members of President Zillur Rahman our heartfelt condolences and stand by you in the hour of grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. 
“May the Almighty give you the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” he noted.
