Last updated: June 23, 2015

Mumbai, India (BBN)-Snapping its 4-day winning streak, Indian rupee depreciated 9 paise to trade at 63.60 against dollar on Tuesday.

This was in line with global trend. The dollar index, which tracks the movement of dollar against a basket of major world currencies, settled at 94.78 on Monday, up 0.48 per cent, reports the Press Trust of India.

The index had been on a fall ever since the US Fed recently concluded its two-day policy review.

The local unit had ended three paise higher in the preceding session to close at 63.51 amid persistent selling of dollars by banks and exporters on hopes of resumption of foreign capital inflows.
