Mumbai, India (BBN)-Indian Rupee edged up by 5 paise to 66.39 against US dollar in the early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on increased selling of the American currency by exporters and banks.
Besides, a higher opening in the domestic stock markets and sustained foreign fund inflows supported the rupee but dollar’s strength against other currencies overseas capped the gains, reports the PTI.
On Monday, the rupee had moved up by 3 paise to close at 66.44 on increased selling of US dollar by banks and exporters.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose further by 57.05 points or 0.23 per cent at 25,079.21 in early trade.
