Mumbai, India (BBN)-Indian rupee strengthened to 68.05 on fresh US dollar selling by banks and exporters and the dollar's weakness against other currencies overseas.
Besides, a firm domestic equity market supported the rupee uptrend, reports the PTI.
The domestic unit opened higher by 10 paise at 68.11 at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market Tuesday.
It hovered in a range of 68.13 and 68.05 before quoting at 68.09, up 13 paise at 12 noon local time.
Yesterday, the domestic currency had lost 30 paise to 68.22 against the US dollar due to huge demand for the American currency.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex was trading up 81.3 points or 0.31 per cent at 26,676.75.
