Lahore, Pakistan (BBN) – A high-level Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) delegation will visit Pakistan during this month aiming to explore the possibilities of promoting bilateral trade ties between the two countries.
The CII delegation, to be headed by Rajesh Menon, would hold meetings with President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Usman Zakaria, Chief Executive Pakistan Trade Development Authority S.M. Muneer, Chairman, Pakistan India Joint Business Forum, Syed Yawar Ali, Saarc CCI and corporate sector leaders.
The CII would extend support and training facilities to develop human resources in industrial sector to meet the international standards and modern trends in global marketing, Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Saarc CCI) Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik told newsmen on Thursday.
The Saarc CCI leader also said there was a need to address concerns relating to market access, tariff and non-tariff barriers, according to the local media reports.
The Pakistan-India trade leaders stressed the need for “trust building measures” between private sectors of the two countries to boost bilateral trade, he added.
“Pakistan wants a level playing field for strengthening trade ties with India”.
Iftikhar Ali further stated that leaders from both the sides were pushing the need to liberalise the visa regime between Pakistan and India to promote business linkage.
