Inu says Islami bank's money should be returned

Last updated: March 18, 2014

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said Islami Bank's money should be returned as using its money singing of national anthem programme could not be held.

"There is no scope to stage the national anthem programme by using the Islami Bank's money as it is an institution of Jamaat-e-Islami and the war criminals," he told the Mobashwer Ali Gold Medal-2014 distribution function in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday.
He said those who talk about dialogue with Jamaat-e-Islami, are really talking in favor of Pakistan. "If the BNP wants dialogue on 11th Jatiya Sangsad election, the party should cut off tie with Jamaat," the minister categorically said.

Inu said time has come to establish the country as a secular one by rooting out militancy forever as a conducive atmosphere for non-communal spirit has been created by Sheikh Hasina led Awami League government.

Professor Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury and economist and lyricist Shoaib Ahmed were decorated with the Mobashwer Ali Gold Medeal-2014 at the function. Professor Anisuzzaman presided over.
