Investors protest as stock prices free-fall

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Retail investors spilled over the Motijheel street in the capital Dhaka following free-fall in stock prices on Sunday.

The benchmark Dhaka Stock Exchange General Index (DGEN) was sharply down by 270 points or 5.45 per cent to 4,676 its lowest over the months.

Frustrated by the sharp fall in share prices, investors blocked the road in front of the prime bourse around 1:45pm (local time) and started demonstration there till filing the report at 3:30 pm the protest against freefall continues.

Prices of only seven gained, 246 declined and three remained unchanged.
