Iranian ambassador calls on Dhaka University vice- chancellor

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Hossein Aminian Jousi on Thursday called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice- Chancellor(VC) Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter's office in Dhaka.

The ambassador was accompanied by Mohammad Oraei Karimi, cultural counsellor of Iranian Embassy, a DU press statement said.

During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the existing collaborative programs between Dhaka University and Tehran University.

They also discussed the possibilities and opportunities to extend further Iranian cooperation and help to Dhaka University especially in the department of Persian Language and Literature.

The Iranian ambassador invited Dhaka University vice chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique to visit Tehran University and help open Bengal Language course there very soon. The DU VC agreed to pay a visit to Tehran University and establish Bengali Language Centre' there.

Iranian ambassador assured the DU VC of providing any kind of assistance for further enhancement of academic cooperation between Tehran University and Dhaka University.
