IS takes Bangladeshi hostage in Libya

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The militants of Islamic group ISIS have made a Bangladeshi national hostage from Al-Ghani oil field in Sirte city of Libya on Friday.
The hostage was identified as Mr. Helal Uddin, an inhabitant of Jamalpur district, Bangladeshi Embassy in Tropoli confirmed the particulars of the abducted person.
His passport No is B0156553, said a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh on Monday.

Eight more foreign nationals were also made hostage by the IS militants on the same occasion.
The incident took place when gunmen invaded the Al-Ghani oil field south of the city Sirte of Libya on Friday killing eleven guards, beheading a number of them before local forces fought back to retake control, the press statement added.
Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli is trying to find out whereabouts of the abducted Bangladeshi national.
Bangladesh Embassy is also in close contact with National Oil Company (NOC) of Libya and the concerned company VAOS where the incident took place.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the incident with Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli.
