Islamic banks to establish a separate training institute in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Islamic Banks operating in Bangladesh is going to establish a separate training Institute jointly, bankers said. 
The banks have decided to establish such a national level training Institute in the 28th General Meeting of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB) held recently.
Currently, there are about twenty one thousand manpower in 22 banks offering Islamic Banking including 7 full fledged Islamic banks in Bangladesh.
In this regard Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. (IBBL) said, "Every Islamic Bank is now running its own training academy or institute to train up their manpower. But this arrangement is no way sufficient. These institute are, in-fact, eligible for conducting the orientation or foundation courses." 
"The current trend of the growth of Islamic banking in Bangladesh indicates that the manpower of the Islamic banks will be doubled within five years, so the establishment of a training institute of International standard is an urgent need for the industry," he added.
Md. Mukhlesur Rahman, Secretary General of the CSBIB termed the decision as the high demand of the time. It will create opportunity for the existing manpower as well as the potential manpower of the industry.
