Jamaat calls shutdown in Bangladesh protesting Quasem's verdict

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Jamaat-e-Islami called a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in Bangladesh for Wednesday protesting the Supreme Court ruling that upheld death penalty for its war crimes condemned leader Mir Quasem Ali.
The announcement was published on Jamaat-e-Islami’s website after the Supreme Court ruling.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday commuted Quasem’s death sentence to imprisonment till death for his crimes against humanity committed during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.
