Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – State-owned Janata Bank Ltd is highlighting an exceptional savings product for non-resident Bangladeshis at the Banking Fair Bangladesh-2015 to encourage the NRBs to deposit in the country.
The deposit product is namely ‘Non Resident Premium Scheme’ and no bank is yet to introduce such type of product but Janata Bank, Hasan Iqbal, a deputy managing director of the bank, told the BBN during the ongoing fair.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the five-day long banking fair on Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Under the product, a NRB will get BDT 3,56,581 after the five years if he or she pay monthly installment of BDT 5,000.
The bank will provide BDT 7,14,913 to its clients if they pay monthly installment of BDT 10,000.
The bank is also focusing a farm credit product at the fair to encourage the rural people for milk production and artificial incrimination, Iqbal said.
The clients will be able to receive maximum BDT 2 lakh under the product with an interest rate of 5 per cent.
The bank will disburse the fund in line with the BB’s refinance scheme’s rules and regulation.
