Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Janata Bank Limited is going to automate all of its branches by the end of this calendar year aiming to provide better services to the clients, the chief executive officer of the state-owned commercial bank (SoCB) said.
“We expect that automation all of our branches will be completed by December 31 this year,” Md. Abdus Salam, also managing director of the bank, told reporters at its headquarters in the capital Dhaka on Wednesday.
Currently, the Janata Bank is running its businesses through 904 branches across the country.
Besides, the SoCB operates its businesses with four branches in the United Arab Emirate (AUE), the MD and CEO added.
In 2015, the SoCB completed automation process of its 503 branches out of 904.
“We’ve already strengthened our server so that we’ll be able to bring rest of the branches into the automation process within the timeframe,” Hasan Iqbal, deputy managing director of the public bank explained.
The SoCB wants to provide better services to their valued clients using modern information technology, according to the DMD.
