Joy receives ‘South-South Cooperation Visionary Award’ on behalf of PM

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Adviser to the Prime Minister on Information and Communication Technology Sajeeb Wazed Joy has received “South-South Cooperation Visionary Award” of the United Nations on behalf of Prime Minister and his mother Sheikh Hasina.

He received the award on the concluding day of the five-day “Global South South Development Expo-2014” held in the US capital of Washington on Friday, according to a an official announcement.

The Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General, Ei Ping Jhu, handed over the award to Joy.

Sheikh Hasina has been nominated for the “South-South Cooperation Visionary Award” for her role in advancing Bangladesh towards digital system and expansion of education.

At the award-receiving function, Joy presented a written speech of the Prime Minister, it added.
