Kashem joins BB as Deputy Governor

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Former Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Abul Kashem joined as deputy governor of the central bank on Thursday.

He has been appointed for a four year term effective from the joining day, a BB announcement said.

Mr Kashem began his banking career in 1976 as assistant director of Bangladesh Bank after completing post-graduation and graduation in honours in Economics from Dhaka University in 1974 and 1973 respectively. He was promoted as ED of BB in 2005 and was on LPR till assuming the new charge.
