Washington, US (BBN)-Did Kate Winslet’s Rose let her lover Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jack freeze to death in Titanic when that life-saving door could have easily fitted two?
That’s a much-discussed fan theory and a favourite critic gripe, reports the Hindustan Times.
As the Oscar-winning film draws to its end, Rose leaves Jack’s hand and he slowly sinks to his death in the freezing ocean.
The universally famous scene has been discussed in painful detail.
The good news is that we are not the only ones worrying about it 19 years after the film released.
Even Winslet thinks Jack would have “actually fitted on that bit of door.”
When the Hollywood star came on Jimmy Kimmel’s show recently, he called her out: “You let him freeze to death in the water. There was plenty of room on the raft.”
“I agree!” Winslet said.
“I think he could have actually fitted on that bit of door.”
Winslet also talked about reuniting with Leonardo DiCaprio at the SAG Awards on Saturday- and that hug that spawned a thousand jokes.
“People are always so excited to see Leo and myself in the same space, which, you know, at the end of the day, that’s so lovely, isn’t it?” Winslet told Kimmel.
“It’s been 20 years, and people still get such a kick out of it. It’s really quite endearing. And we do laugh about it. We were giggling about it last night. I was like, my god, can you actually believe that people just get so overwhelmed by the Jack and Rose thing.”
