Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-US Secretary of State John Kerry has expressed his desire to visit Bangladesh at the “earliest possible” time.
If Kerry comes, it will be his first visit to Bangladesh.
Kerry made the disclosure during an “informal meeting” with his Bangladeshi counterpart AH Mahmood Ali in the Myanmar capital of Nay Pyi Taw, said a press statement of Bangladesh foreign ministry.
Bangladesh minister returned to Dhaka from Nay Pyi Taw on Monday after attending the meeting of 21st ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
On the sidelines of the ASEAN meeting, he also met his China, India and New Zealand counterparts.
Hilary Clinton was the last US Secretary of State to visit Bangladesh in 2012.
