Sylhet, Bangladesh (BBN)– BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia addresses a public rally in Sylhet on Saturday aiming to drum up public support in favour of the opposition’s demand for arranging the next general election under a non-party administration.

The BNP-led 18-party alliance is arranging the rally at the Sylhet Alia Madrasah ground.

This will be the fifth rally out of eight the 18-party alliance has planned to arrange in eight regions of the country to increase the people’s involvement in their ongoing campaign to force the government to arrange election under a non-party government.

Earlier the BNP chief addressed rallies in Narsingdi on September 8, Rangpur on September 15, Rajshahi on September 16 and Khulna on September 29.

Khaleda’s Barisal rally scheduled for September 29 was postponed and the fresh date for it would be announced later.

She will also address rallies in Dhaka and Chittagong after Eid-ul-Azha, one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims, the party leaders said.
