Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The Indian government has formally invited Leader of the Opposition and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to meet with Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh during his visit to Dhaka on September 6-7.
On behalf of the Indian government Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Rajeet Mitter formally invited Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office Sunday night.
The formal meeting between Khaleda and Manmohan will take place at 4:00 pm (local time) on September 7 at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital where the Indian Prime Minister will be staying during his visit.
“Indian high commissioner met the BNP chairperson to invite her for a formal meeting. This is the first time the Indian government has invited the Bangladesh opposition leader to meet their premier,” Vice Chairman of the BNP Shamser Mobin Chowdhury told reporters after the meeting.
Party'a Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Chairperson's Advisers Reaz Rahman and Sabihuddin Ahmed were present in the meeting.
