1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
¾ cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
2 eggs
½ cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Line and prepare an 8 inch pan and preheat oven to 400°F or 200°C.
Using a hand or stand mixer, mix together the butter and sugar for 5 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time while continuously mixing for about 2 minutes more.
Add milk and flour alternately starting with milk.
Add vanilla and beat until batter is smooth.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
