Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched their maiden Indian Premier League title as they beat defending champions Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in a final in Chennai on Sunday.
Chasing 191, Manvinder Bisla played a vital innings as he smashed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowlers to all corners to make 89 off only 48 balls. He was aptly backed by Jacques Kallis.
As the going got tough in the last two overs, Shakib Al Hasan and Manoj Tiwary kept their cool to steer the team home. Tiwary finished the game by hitting two successive boundaries in the last over, sending the KKR players and principal owner Shah Rukh Khan into frenzied celebrations.
