Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Khulna Power Company Ltd (KPCL) dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday following its corporate declaration.
A total of 30.54 million shares worth BDT 2.08 billion changed hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 417 million.
The company’s share closed at 20.5 on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, registering an increase of 14.03 percent over the week. Last 52-week price movement of the company was Tk 13.1 to Tk 45.
The power sector company listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2014.
The Board of Directors of the company has recommended 40 percent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2014. The final approval of the dividend during the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held on June 25 at Krishibid Institution, Bangladesh Khamarbari Road, Farmgate, Tejgaon, Dhaka-1215. Record date is May 31.
The Company has also reported EPS of BDT 2.30, NAV per share of BDT 22.81 and NOCFPS of BDT 3.29 for the year ended on December 31, 2014.
In 2013, the company disbursed 25 percent cash dividend and 5.0 percent stock dividend.
Of the total share – sponsor/directors held by 39.76 percent, institutions held 6.02 per cent while general public held 54.22 percent shares, according to DSE website information.
The week’s other turnover leaders were United Power BDT 1.75 billion changed hands followed by BSCCL BDT 1.41 billion, RAK Ceramics BDT 1.29 billion, Saif Powertec BDT 1.00 billion.
ACI Formulations also came to the top turnover list with shares worth BDT 895.80 million changed hands followed Baraka Power BDT 893 million, MJL BD BDT 786 million, United Airways BDT 754 million and Summit Alliance Port worth BDT 752.47 million changed hands last week.
