Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Lafarge Surma Cement, a multinational listed company dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) for the third consecutive week that ended on Thursday.

A total of 5.09 million shares of Lafagre Surma were traded worth BDT 691.53 million changing hands during the week. Daily average turnover was Tk 172.88 million.

The company listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2003. Of the total shares, 65.86 percent held by sponsor/directors, 4.04 per cent held by institutional investors while rest of 30.1 percent held by public, according to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) web site.

The Lafarge Surma’s consolidated profit rose 48.22 percent year-on-year to BDT 2,108.53 million in January-September’14, with BDT 1.82 in earnings per share (EPS) compared to BDT 1,422.57 million and BDT 1.22 a year ago respectively.

After Lafarge Surma Cement, the week’s other top turnover leaders were Agni Systems worth BDT 375.67 million changing hands, DESCO BDT 323.44 million, Saif Powertec
BDT 302.51 million, RSRM Steels BDT 283.29 million, MJL BD BDT 266.61 million, Beximco Pharma BDT 263.63 million, GP BDT 252.56 million, IDLC Finance BDT 243.66 million and KPCL worth BDT 223.56 million changing hands during the week.
