Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Lafarge Surma Cement, a multinational listed company dominated the week’s top turnover chart for the second straight week on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
A total of 15.44 million shares of Lafagre Surma were traded worth BDT 1.93 billion changing hands during the week. Daily average turnover was Tk 387 million.
The company’s share closed at BDT 127 on Thursday, registering an increase of 1.28 percent over the previous week.
The merger of Holcim and Lafarge has been completed on July 10, and LafargeHolcim has emerged as the largest aggregate producer in the world.
“Investors went after the shares of Lafarge after the news,” analysts said.
The company listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2003. The cement sector company belonging in A category.
Of the total shares, 58.87 percent held by sponsor/directors, 5.77 per cent held by institutional investors while rest of 35.36 percent held by public, according to DSE website information.
The company has also reported consolidated income of BDT 2,819.80 million, consolidated EPS of BDT 2.43, consolidated NAV per share of BDT 11.41 and consolidated NOCFPS of BDT 3.07 for the year ended on December 31, 2014.
After Lafarge Surma Cement, the week’s other top turnover leaders were Square Phrama BDT 1.30 billion changing hands followed by KPCL BDT 1.02 billion, Beximco Pharma BDT 940 million and Beximco BDT 864 million changed hands.
Shahjibazar Power Company also came to the list with share worth BDT 858 million changed hands followed by Olympic Accessories BDT 825 million, Shasha Denim BDT 804 million, RAK Ceramics BDT 794 million and ACI Ltd worth BDT 787 million changed hands during the week.
