Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Lafarge Surma Cement, a multinational listed company dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) for the second consecutive last week that ended on Thursday.

A total of 3.41 million shares of Lafagre Surma were traded worth BDT 424.19 million changing hands during the week. Daily average turnover was Tk 106.05 million.

The company listed in the Dhaka bourse in 2003. The market lot is 500 shares. Of the total shares, 70.06 percent held by sponsor/directors while rest of 29.94 percent held by public, according to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) web site.

The Lafarge Surma’s consolidated profit rose 48.22 percent year-on-year to BDT 2,108.53 million in January-September’14, with BDT 1.82 in earnings per share (EPS) compared to BDT 1,422.57 million and BDT 1.22 a year ago respectively.

After Lafarge Surma Cement, the week’s other top turnover leaders were MJL BD worth BDT 354.19 million, Beximco Pharma BDT 270.14 million, GP BDT 251.61 million, DESCO BDT 234.90 million, Agni Systems BDT 185.25 million, Square Pharma BDT 180.74 million, Summit Alliance Port BDT 170.99 million, IDLC Finance BDT 160.65 million and Saif Powertec worth BDT 148.74 million changing hands during the week.
