Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Lafarge Surma Cement, one of the largest construction material producers, continued the week’s top turnover leader at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.

Investors traded Lafarge Surma Cement’s 15.29 million shares worth BDT 1.25 billion last week on the DSE, according to the DSE website.

“Investors went after the shares of Lafarge in recent days as Padma Bridge contract signing lured investors much in cement sector companies,” said a stock broker.

Each share price closed at BDT 82.86 as of Thursday, gaining 1.41 percent from previous week.

After the Lafarge Surma, the other turnover leaders were GP worth BDT 934.77 million, BSRM Steels BDT 744.05 million, Square Pharmaceuticals BDT 629.89 million, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd BDT 528.85 million, ACI Limited BDT 373.54 million, United Airways BDT 312.94 million, BSRM Steels BDT 292.62 million, UCBL BDT 280.87 million and Beximco Pharmaceuticals worth BDT 255.87 million changing hands during the week.
