Landslides kill 32 in Southeastern Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Devastating landslides triggered by heavy rains killed at least 32 people in the country’s southeastern Bangladesh district early Wednesday.
In Lama upazila (sub-district), the mudslide killed 23 people including 11 of a family while nine more persons including six of another family were buried alive in Naikhanchhari upazila, KM Tariqul Islam, deputy commissioner of Bandarban district, reportedly said.
He also said 11 members of one Nurul Islam's family buried alive in Raimakhali area of Faitong union in Lama during the landslide.
On information, police and firefighters rushed to the spots and were conducting rescue operation.
