Landslides kill six in Southeastern Bangladesh

Chittagong, Bangladesh (BBN) - At least six people were killed following heavy downpours and landslides on the country’s southeastern Chittagong and Cox's Bazar areas on Tuesday.
Four of the victims died in separate landslides at different parts of Maheshkhali upazila in Cox's Bazar. In Chittagong, two people were killed as a large chunk of earth fell on them at Yasin Colony of Khulshi, police said.
All domestic and international flight operations to and from Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport were declared suspended at 4:30pm on Tuesday as the runway was inundated.
Also, train services on Dhaka-Chittagong route was cut off as a railway bridge at Bhatiari collapsed around 8:00pm due to the downpour, according to reports.
