Thakugaon, Bangladesh (BBN)– Five people were killed and another 16 wounded by lightning in the country’s northern Thakurgaon district Friday morning.
Locals said a streak of thunderbolt struck a group of farmers in Pirganj upazila (subdistrict) while they were working on a paddy field during rain at about 11am, leaving two people dead on the spot and five others injured.
In another incident, three people were killed and 11 others injured after being struck by lightning in Haripur upazila in the morning.
