Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Malaysian cabinet has approved the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the Padma multipurpose bridge project.
This was disclosed by outgoing Malaysian High Commissioner Jamaluddin 
Bin Sabeh during a farewell call on Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, MP, at her office in the capital Dhaka on Sunday.
The foreign minister thanked the Malaysian government for its support in providing Bangladesh with equipment for Machine Readable Passport (MRP), carrying out dredging works by Malaysian Maritime and Dredging Corporation (MMDC) in Chittagong port and showing interest in the Padma multipurpose bridge. 
She also expressed happiness at the process of legalizing Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia and hoped that new recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia will start soon. 
Dipu Moni also hoped that after being legalized, Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia will get safer work environment while unscrupulous agents will not be able to exploit the workers any more.
The outgoing envoy informed the foreign minister that Malaysia is going to arrange a showcase program in Dhaka to commemorate the 40 years of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Bangladesh. 
The foreign minister requested the High Commissioner to play active role in recruiting skilled and semi-skilled workers from Bangladesh.
She wished best success of the High Commissioner in his next assignment and hoped that he will continue acting as a goodwill ambassador of Bangladesh around the globe.
