Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Meghna Bank Limited (MBL) has started its commercial operation with a vision of bringing a large number of unbanked people under their banking coverage.
The scheduled bank will initially operate its all commercial activities through the main branch at Doreen Tower at Gulshan-2 of the capital before it goes for opening six more branches.
Chairman of the Meghna Bank HN Ashequr Rahman, also a parliamentarian, officially launched its operation on Thursday by cutting the commercial tape in the morning at its head office.
The MBL’s vice chairman Abdul Alim Khan Selim, managing director (MD) & the chief executive officer (CEO) Kaiser A Chowdhury, deputy managing directors Arif Quadri and Md Nazrul Hossain and additional managing director Md Mohasin Miah were among others present during the launching ceremony.
The senior official of the new bank said they have a plan to broaden the service to the remote villages within the next five years. “We’ve also got permission of opening six more branches and locations of the outlets will be finalised after a meeting of its board of directors.”
