Mexico, US (BBN) – For obvious reasons, we’ve maintained a lifelong fascination with mermaids, and love hearing about mermaid-themed (every) things.
Especially when they also involve love! And we just heard that a couple had a real-life mermaid wedding — in the middle of the Caribbean Sea no less, reports hellogiggles.com.
And by middle, we mean their wedding was IN THE SEA, with the bride sitting on a surf board in a gorgeous pink Maggie Sottero dress!
And none of the guests were in bathing suits, but formal wedding attire — aka suits and dresses.
Susana Zamos is officially the coolest bride.
She’s a self-confessed water baby. “I have always loved the water.
I’m a scuba diver and was fortunate enough to grow up with a pool in the backyard and the sea not far away,” she said in a post on Del Sol Photography’s site.
“My happiest days were always in the water.”
We’re trying to control ourselves, because we love that her wedding was so specific and meaningful to her and her hubby Jovany.
Luckily for us, they were fully equipped with underwater cameras and drones for aerial photography, so we can get a good glimpse at the action:
This wedding is a great reminder to think outside the box when it comes to planning a party!
As they explain in the video, Susana was initially told by a wedding planner that this idea was impossible — it would be a logistical nightmare — but then they consulted the wedding photographers at De Sol Photography, who ultimately encouraged them that it was possible.
“The idea of having a whole wedding ceremony in the water was incredible.
I could imagine the amazing visuals,” said Sol Tamargo, principal photographer, in the same blog post.
“Susana’s vision was a dream come true for her, Jovany and ME!!!!
When do you get to photograph a wedding in the ocean, with a surf board and an altar?”Indeed!
