Last updated: April 27, 2012
Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - A total of 11,000 new recruitment will be made for Bangladesh Railway within a few months, Railway and Communications Minister Obaidul Quader said on Friday.
The minister said this while speaking at a view exchange meeting with Awami League and former Chhatra League leaders at the party central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka.
"It's a good news for country's unemployed youths. There is a manpower shortage in the railway. For this reason, new employment will be made in the railway at the earliest. Recruitment notice will be advertised in newspapers within a few days," he said.
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) organised the meeting as a preparatory to accord mass-student reception to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina marking country's sea-limit victory and her 31st homecoming day.
In a landmark verdict of Hamburg-based International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) on March 14, Bangladesh got 111,631 square kilometer area in the Bay of Bengal.
