Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh, with around 10 crore subscribers, has become the 11th mobile phone using country in the world, Science and ICT Minister Mostafa Faruk Mohammad said in Dhaka onThursday.
Mobile phone has brought a revolutionary change in the country in terms of easy access to information and communication, the minister said while inaugurating a seminar in the conference room of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) in the capital Dhaka.
The minister said steps should be taken to create awareness among the people to ensure multiple use of mobile phone.
The BCS, North Korea based National Information Agency (NIA) and World Bank (WB) arranged the function.
Senior system analyst of BCS Tareq Barkatullah moderated it. Additional ICT Secretary Kamal Uddin Ahmed presided over the function while the WB representatives were present.
