Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh introduced ‘Mobile ATM Booth’ for the first time on Wednesday aiming to reach the banking service doorstep of the people.
“Client are not ought to come in banks but banks must reach their clients,” Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman said while inaugurating the banking service in the capital Dhaka.
Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited launched the new service for their clients, the bank said.
The BB governor advised the banks to extend their ATM Booth Service in rural areas along with urban ones to bring more un-banked people into the banking network.
The newly inaugurated mobile ATM booth as a good example for the future development of human banking in Bangladesh, Dr. Rahman observed.
Among others, Deputy Governors of BB S K Sur Chowdhury and Abul Quasem and Chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Badiur Rahman were present as special guests while Managing Director of the bank Md. Habibur Rahman presided over the ceremony. Among others General Manager of the central bank A. F. M. Asaduzzaman attended at the programme.
Habibur Rahman thanked the BB for the outstanding supervision and guidance that made the modern banking business a more effective way to change the entire economy of the country.
