Mobile operators asked to provide customer care calls free of cost

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The telecom regulatory body has asked the mobile operators to ensure free services relating to customer care calls by March 1 this year.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) issued the directive recently.
The regulator has also issued a number of specific directives regarding basic services to mobile phone customers.
The BTRC has asked mobile operators to switch to a common toll free number, 121 for customer care services by March 1, 2011.
"All the mobile operators shall migrate to common toll free number '121' from March 1, which is allocated exclusively for the Complaint Management Service in 'National Numbering Plan,' the directive said.
