Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations scheduled for Monday have been postponed due to the countrywide dawn-to-dusk general strike called by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The changed date and time of the exams will be informed later through print and electronic media, an education ministry official said Sunday, adding that other HSC and its equivalent examinations under the 10 education boards will be held as per previous schedule, he added.
The BNP called the general strike for the second consecutive day to protest the “disappearance” of its organizing secretary M Ilias Ali who along with his car drive went missing on the night of April 17.
The HSC and its equivalent examinations began on April 1 with 926,000 examinees sitting under 10 education boards across the country. The written exams will end on May 20.
