Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The National Moon Sighting Committee will sit in a meeting on Tuesday to decide the date of Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslims.
The meeting, to be held at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram conference room in the capital, will announce the date for Eid reviewing the information about sighting the moon of the holy month of Shawal, a press statement said on Sunday.
State Minister for Religious Affairs and Chairman of the committee Advocate Mohammad Shahjahan Mia will preside over the meeting to be held at 7:15 pm (local time).
Those who will see the moon of Shawal anywhere in Bangladesh sky have been urged to inform the committee over the following phone and fax numbers.
