Moon Sighting panel meets Monday evening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The National Moon Sighting Committee will sit this evening to fix the date of Eid-Ul-Fitr after reviewing reports of sighting the Shawwal moon from across the country, the Islamic Foundation said on Monday.

Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matiur Rahman, also chairman of the National Moon Sighting Committee, will preside over the meeting at IF conference room on Baitul Mukarram National Mosque complex in the capital Dhaka at 7:15 pm on Monday.

All are requested to contact any of these numbers, 9559443, 9555543, 9556407 and 9558337 and 9563397 (fax), if the moon is sighted in the sky anywhere of Bangladesh, the Foundation added.
