Last updated: November 1, 2024

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Registration and re-issuance of MRT pass will remain suspended until November 7 ‘for updating and integrating data, and improving safety’.

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator of the metro rail, announced the suspension on its verified Facebook page on Friday.

"Due to unavoidable circumstances, card registration and re-issuance will be unavailable until 7 Nov 2024. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience," it said.

The suspension comes due to a system upgradation of the DMTCL.

However, issuance of single journey passes will continue as usual, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd told media.

He also said registration and re-issuance of MRT pass will remain closed from tonight as they will update and integrate data with national server, aiming to improve safety and other issues.
