Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A half-yearly business conference-2010 of Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTBL) was held at a city hotel on Saturday. 
Founding Chairman of MTBL Syed Manzur Elahi attended the inaugural function as the chief guest.
MTBL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anis A Khan, deputy managing directors, divisional and departmental heads, managers and deputy managers were also present at the conference.
Mr Manzur Elahi said that the board of directors and senior management team were taking dynamic and well coordinated initiatives to inspire vigour, vitality, motivation and enthusiasm in the entire organisation, which would contribute to MTBL’s transformation into a world class bank.
Mr Anis A Khan gave a multi-media presentation on the bank’s business and operational performance for the period of half-yearly that ended on June 30, 2010.
The bank’s balance-sheet footing increased by over 16.96 percent, as at the half-year end, compared to the corresponding previous half-year. Operating profit grew encouragingly by 64.86 percent, while post-tax profit showed a robust 35.46 percent growth over January-June 2009.
The earning per share (EPS) registered a healthy increase to BDT 22.38 from BDT 16.52 while ROA rose to 1.81 percent from 1.56 percent, the bank said.
