National Life Insurance recommends 40pc dividend

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The board of directors of National Life Insurance Company has recommended 20 percent cash dividend and 20 percent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2015, said an official disclosure on Sunday.
The final approval will come during the annual general meeting scheduled to be held on September 26 at 11am at the Auditorium, Karwan Bazar in Dhaka.
The record date is on August 10.
There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company today following its corporate declaration.
Thursday’s closing price of each National Life share was BDT 184.70.
The company was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 1995. The insurer belongs to the “A” category.
The company’s paid-up capital is BDT 684 million and authorised capital is BDT 2,000 million, while the total number of securities is 68,381,841. The company’s total market cap stood at BDT 12,630.13 million as on Thursday.
The sponsor-directors own 54.80 percent stake in the National Life, while the institutional investors own 39.41 percent, foreign 0.30 percent and the general public own only 5.49 percent stake as on April 30, 2016, the DSE data showed.
