Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A K M Shafiqur Rahman has been appointed as Managing Director of National Bank Limited (NBL), the private commercial bank said.
Prior to his appointment, he was Additional Managing Director of the same Bank. Mr. Rahman started his career as Probationary Officer in Bangladesh Krishi Bank in the year 1974 and worked as head of different Branches & Divisions there up to 1988. Subsequently he joined National Bank Limited. He worked in various capacities in the Bank.
Mr. Rahman is an M. A. with Honors in Economics. He completed a Certificate Course on Program on Investment Appraisal and Management’ from Harvard University, USA in 1999. During his long banking career Mr Rahman widely traveled home & abroad and attended different seminar, symposium and also received training over there. He was born in Naria, Shariatpur in 1950.
