Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is going to hold pre-budget meetings with all trade promotional organizations from April 1 aiming to prepare the participatory budget proposals for the fiscal year 2014-15.  
 
A total of 18 meetings will be held until April 29 on the NBR premises, officials said. 
 
The month-long meetings will begin with the agriculture and poultry sectors, and come to a close with meetings involving major chambers.
 
The tax authorities will sit with stakeholders in oil, gas, foods, beverage, cigarette, paper, printing and publication, cinema and advertising sectors on April 2, according to the scheduled.
 
The stakeholders in pharmaceutical, clinical, diagnostic, toiletries, chemicals, paint, varnish, leather and cosmetic sectors, and those in electrical and electronic, computer, ICT and telecommunication sectors will sit with NBR on April 3.
 
On April 15, hotels, restaurants, guest houses and other services will place their budget proposals to the revenue board. Exporters, not enjoying bonded warehouse facilities, automobile and transport (land, river and airways organisations) sectors will sit with the board on April 16.
 
Jute, textiles, yarn sectors and exporters, with bonded warehouse facility, including ready-made garment, knitwear, composite products, packaging and accessories sectors are scheduled to attend pre-budget meetings with NBR on April 17.
 
NBR will hold pre-budget meetings with the financial institutions (FIs), Metropolitan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), small and medium businesses and other businesses on April 20.
 
SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and large businesses will sit with the revenue board on April 21, while clearing and forwarding agents, shipping and freight forwarders, tax lawyers, indenters on April 22.
 
The NBR will also hold meetings with the construction sector, including stakeholders in brick, sand, cement, iron, sanitary goods, ceramics and hardware sectors on that day.
 
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CMCCI), the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) will hold pre-budget meetings with NBR on April 23.
 
On April 24, the NBR will sit with the Foreign Investors Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Meeting with Bangladesh Chambers of Industries is scheduled to be held on April 27.
