Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is going to introduce an online calculator from September 1 this year to help ease submission of returns by individual income taxpayers.
Income taxpayers can calculate their actual payable tax in the tax calculator without taking help of others, the NBR officials said on Tuesday.
The NBR will put the tax calculator on its website from next month in line with promise of the finance minister in the budget speech for 2010-2011, they added.
The time for submission of income tax returns for individual taxpayers will expire on September 30. The revenue board usually receives most of the income tax returns in September.
In 2009, the revenue board received tax returns from 0.75 million individual taxpayers. It has collected BDT 8.60 billion worth of tax from individual taxpayers in 2009-10 fiscal.
