Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Netherlands literally barged into the super ten stage of the ICC T20 World Cup with an incredible six wickets victory over Ireland in their third and last group B qualifying round match held on Friday at the Sylhet Stadium in Bangladesh.

Orange jersied Dutch only needed the win but they had to achieved their massive target of 189 runs in 14.3 overs in order to make the last ten slot otherwise even with a victory after 15 overs they would have seen Zimbabwe making the final round, according to reports.

Thanks to opener Stephan Myburgh for his explosive 63-run that helped Netherlands to reach the fastest hundred to chase the massive total, the reports said.
 Stephan Myburgh brilliant innings studded a record seven over boundaries and four boundaries during his 23-ball stay on the crease. He was later named the player of the match for his impressive innings on the day.

An ample support also came from the bat of Tom Cooper, who contributed a priceless 15-ball off 45-run with the help of six
towering over boundaries and one boundary. Wesley Barresi (40 n.o) and Ben Cooper (9 no) completed the formalities with 37 balls remaining.

Kevin O'Brien was the most successful bowler for Ireland picking up two wickets for 29 runs.

Earlier, middle order batsman Andrew Poynter scored a blistering half century saw Ireland to post a massive total of 189 for 4 from their allotted 20 overs, after they were forced to bat first by the Netherlands.

Andrew Poynter played an impressive knock of 38 balls of 57 runs smacking four over boundaries and four boundaries while Kevin O'Brien who was more aggressive with bat and contributed an unbeaten 16-ball off 42-run hitting four over boundaries and two boundaries.

Besides, opener William Porterfield (47) and Ed Joyce were the other notable scorers for the Irish side. Ahsan Malik was the most successful bowler for the Netherlands picking up two wickets giving away 26 runs.
