Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The central bank of Bangladesh will release new bank notes of all denominations ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
The notes would be available simultaneously from the bank’s Motijheel office and other local branches on Sunday and continue until the last working day before the Eid vacation, a central bank statement said.
Eleven specified branches of different banks in Dhaka would also circulate the notes.
They are Agrani Bank’s Press Club and Elephant Road branches, Sonali Bank’s Ramna and Bangabandhu Avenue branches, Janata Bank’s New Market branch, Pubali Bank’s Sadarghat branch, Social Islami Bank’s Basundhara City branch, Dutch-Bangla Bank’s Gulshan branch, Southeast Bank’s Karwan Bazar branch, Prime Bank’s Malibagh branch and Islami Bank’s Jatrabarhi branch.
The central bank would circulate BDT 20 billion, including new notes of BDT 8.0 billion, ahead of the festivals, the statement added.
