Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Limited has announced that Andrew Tilke will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HSBC Bangladesh with effect from Monday.

Andrew joined HSBC Group in 1983 and has worked in a variety of roles in Europe and the Asia Pacific region including Senior Executive, International; Senior Manager, Group Audit Asia Pacific; and Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking, Philippines, the global bank said in an announcement on Sunday.  

Since 2009, Andrew has been based in Shanghai as a senior member of the executive team in China undertaking the responsibilities of Chief Risk Officer, HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited.

Andrew is a member of Institute of Financial Services of the UK, and married with two children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, travelling and playing golf.

Andrew replaces Sanjay Prakash – who is moving to HSBC’s regional head office in Hong Kong as Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific Commercial Banking.

Sanjay spent over three years in Bangladesh where the bank saw significant business growth.
