Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Foreign Minister Dipu Moni has expressed the hope that Bangladesh and International Organization for Migration (IOM) would continue to work closely in areas of mutual interest. 
The foreign minister said this when the new IOM Country Chief Mr. Sarah Dash called on her to present his credentials, a foreign ministry press statement said on Wednesday.
While presenting credentials, the new IOM Country Chief mentioned that IOM would continue to provide policy support to Bangladesh for the welfare of migrant workers. Mr. Dash reiterated that it would work closely with Bangladesh in areas of mutual interest.
Dipu Moni thanked IOM for its works in Bangladesh. 
She briefed the IOM chief of the steps taken by the government in minimizing the cost of migration and transaction of remittance.  
She made particular mention of the assistance provided during the repatriation of the Bangladeshi workers from Libya. 
The foreign minister underscored the need for an international framework to respond to emergency situations including their reintegration in the countries of origin and return to the work in the destination country 
Before taking up this position, Mr. Dash was the Chief of IOM office in Nepal. He succeeds Mrs. Rabab Fatima, who has been transferred to IOM Regional Office in Bangkok, according to the statement.
