London, UK (BBN)-Machete and knife attacks on minorities are becoming more regular in the Asian country as political strife escalates.
And Simon Danczuk yesterday said "a lot" of asylum seekers will be "looking" to reach Britain if a civil war breaks out, reports the Express.co.uk.
According to the 2011 census, the UK is home to 450,000 British Bangladeshis – with the vast majority living in London.
Danczuk, the MP for Rochdale, said: "We should not underestimate the immigration problems we could have here.
"We have a large diaspora here already and they have a population over 160 million in Bangladesh.
"If a civil war does breaks out there, then there will be a lot of asylum seekers looking to come to this country."
Mr Danczuk, who was suspended by Labour last year, also warned that ministers must be vigilant about how the situation will affect Britain.
He said: "Because civil society is being shrunk in Bangladesh the space is now being filled by extremists.
"So when the Government rightly talks in the Queen's Speech about tackling extremism, one of the priorities has indeed got to be Bangladesh."
The depraved Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for some of the machete and knife attacks.
But Bangladesh officials deny the terror group, which controls vast swathes of Iraq and Syria, has any presence in the country.
The shocking wave killings come amid concern extremism is flourishing in the previously moderate Muslim country.
